SPS OPEN ENROLLMENT
SPS Open Enrollment Registration is Feb 27th -- March 9th. All students will receive an assignment letter right before open enrollment begins. This will tell them the initial assignment for next year, and will also provide information on open enrollment. There will, of course, be subsequent changes due to address updates, open enrollment assignments, and newly enrolling students. More information can be found here.
EARLY RELEASE DUE TO SNOW
When Seattle Public Schools announces an early release due to snow/winter conditions, our school will follow these guidelines:
- SchoolMessenger - The District will send out messages via “SchoolMessenger” to let parents/guardians know the details of the school closure. Please be on time to pick-up your student.
- Woodchip Playscape, Playcourt and Playground to be Cleared - is to be cleared by EVERYONE upon dismissal.
- Bus Lines - All students taking buses are to stay in their bus line.
- Walking Home or Pick-up - Students walking home or being picked up by parents/guardians are to go home immediately and not stay on the Montlake school grounds.
- One Hour after the early dismissal the grounds can be accessed by the public.

Montlake School Evening Open House
On Wednesday, Feb 8: 6:30 -8:00 pm, Montlake will have an Open House for interested parents. Kindergarten and First Grade teachers will be available to meet with prospective parents in their classrooms. Visitors will also have an opportunity to tour the school and visit with our art and multi-media specialists. Children are welcome to attend the Open House. Montlake School Daytime Tours School tours will be available on Wednesday, Feb 15 and Feb 29 from 9:30 – 11:00 am. Tours begin with a brief overview by our principal in the gym. Parent volunteers take groups of visitors through our school. Everyone is able to get glimpses inside our classrooms and ask questions. We ask that parents reserve a spot by calling our office in-advance at (206) 252-3300. We also ask that parents not bring children so as not to interrupt learning time for students.
