    Follow the Montlake Way

Be Safe, Be Kind, Be Fair, Take Responsibility

    Thank you Volunteers!

I am continually amazed at our amazing community! Thank you to all of you who got your volunteers applications in by the deadline. We currently have 200 parents, grandparents, nannies, etc. who have signed up to volunteer. Thank you for taking the time to fill out the paperwork, grapple with a new online system, and upload your ID more times than you could count. I appreciate every single one of you. The deadline for signing up to volunteer was October 31st, and I’m still processing a few stragglers. If you did not receive a confirmation, or had issues with signing up, please contact me at

    Annual Fund Update

Congratulations to Mrs. Yorde's class and Emily Gussin's class for having the highest participation in the annual fund for weeks 1 and 2! Both classes will have pizza parties to celebrate! There is still time to win a pizza party for your class - donate today! Please consider making a personally significant gift to support all the people and programs that make Montlake an exceptional school! And remember, the class with the highest level of participation will win a pizza party.

    PTA Parent Night

Montlake families, be sure to save the date for our upcoming Family Information Night on the topic of "Kids & Anxiety: How To Help", with Linda Spain, LMHC. This PTA-sponsored event will take place on Thursday, November 8 from 6-7pm. Stay tuned for more details shortly!

    Staff Recognition

This year, the community at Montlake is trying to do a better job of recognizing and appreciating our colleagues. Each month, the social committee will recognize a team of teachers and staff who make Montlake the amazing school it is. This month, we are recognizing our Kindergarten and First Grade team. This week, we are highlighting an amazing Kindergarten duo: Mrs. Yorde and Anna Faraday. Mrs. Yorde teaches in room 2, and Anna has been the tutor in her room for over 5 years. Please check out our “Recognition Wall” by the staff room, and feel free to write our K/1 staff a little note of appreciation if you think of them this month! S

    Seeking Husky Fans!

For more than 20 years, the Montlake PTA has hosted Husky football parking on our blacktop as a fundraiser for the school. Last year Husky parking generated about $10,000 that went toward funding tutors, the greenhouse, the library and other programs that help our kids. We are looking for one or two Husky parking coordinators for the 2019 season. We can show you the ropes on one of the remaining 2018 home-game days—Sat. Nov. 3 or 17. If you’re interested or would like more information, please email the PTA volunteer coordinator at Thank you!

Please note that all bulletin announcements will run for one week only. If you would like to run your notice for more than one week, please submit a new notice each week by Monday at 10:00 a.m. to
