And Now a Word from the Art Studio!

"It's all about the people, who deserve a better world. In my own way, I am trying to make that happen." -Tyree Guyton, Artist and Community Activist

On June 1st, join friends and family for a balmy northwest evening at Montlake Elementary and celebrate arts and culture with the future leaders of tomorrow at Eat Real/Art Walk/Spring Concert and Book Fair! Music, food, nature, literature and art-the 5 essentials for a well rounded soul!

Enjoy offerings from our own grill, Neon Taco, Crepe Caravan, Molly Moon and Bake Sale or contribute a dish to our school potluck. Walk off your food coma by browsing miles of books brought to you by the talented literary aficionados from the University of Washington. Bring cash and credit card to be safe-we do not yet live in an official barter society!

As the sun sets, enjoy the heavenly sounds of Montlake's own song birds-show time starting at 6:30-with surprise live musical performances before and after. Student art, inspired by Motor City's own Tyree Guyton, will be featured around the school campus, including our fresh new raised garden beds. Art Walk will also feature exclusive work from our SAM show inspired by the art of Nick Cave, Augusta Savage, Jean Michel Basquiat and William H. Johnson.

And last but not least, back by popular demand-chickens! Come sit and contemplate life while holding a chicken. It's free and immensely peaceful.

All Eat Real/Art Walk t-shirt order forms went home today-check backpacks!
Please consider volunteering your time-shifts are short and sweet-and this magical night cannot happen without you! Hit the button and sign up NOW! http://www.signupgenius.com/go/4090448aca72b0-montlake
